John,

I am working in Product Marketing of the European Marketing Center. One
of the things I am taking care of is pws.

Today I got the first request for a beta release of pws. I checked with
our Technical Support group and learned that they have not the resources
to support any beta site. However, I expect there will be a number of
European customers who need the new release.

John, do you think it will be possible to provide support for the
European beta sites from the US? If not I suggest to offer the beta
bits without support. Every thing else could be handled as usual, e.g.
nondisclosure agreement, bug report.

Please let me know what you think about this and when you plan to
release the beta bits.

Best Regards
Ludwig Isken

Ludwig,

We have beta bits ready to go out. I can arrange for you to get a copy,
but customers will need to get a nondisclosure agreement back to us.
Is your Technical Support group able to support the PaWS product? If
so, they should be able to handle the beta release. Otherwise,
questions can come to us through you.

The 3.23 version bits are scheduled to be released in the next
couple weeks, and should be shipping to customers sometime in
June (provided SRDO and SRDE can do it). How urgent is your need?

Let me know...

John Schmidt

John,

Yes, we want to have some PWS beta sites here in Europe. I checked with
tech support and learned that they do not have the resources for supporting
betasites. My recommendation is to provide the code without technical
support. In case a beta code receipent needs support, I voluntary to
forward the questions to the US PWS support.

Please send three copys of the floppys and documentation. The material will
be passed along with a nondisclosure agreement and a request for an reply.

John,

I'd like to provide five customers with pws beta code. The customers are

Uni Stuttgart
Mecasoft
Polysoft
Becton Dickinson
Philips

Since we have here not the resources to give full support to this betasites,
I propose to give them the code "unsupported". The support needed will be
through the local AE. I'd appreciate if the AEs may call you in case of
problems.

In case this is not acceptable for you, please send just one copy for
use at EMC.

Best Regards
Ludwig Isken
