                           PAYROLL CANADA
                           ==============

PAYROLL CANADA is a super Payroll / Personnel System for 1 to
320 employees anywhere in Canada (except it does not calculate
Quebec Provincial Taxes). It features sophisticated input editing
with pop up help windows, many giving cursor selectable choices of
input values. It has formatted screens for all important employee
information (including UIC ROE information) and a free form comments
screen for those notes you like to keep on promotability, etc. All
program functions are menu selectable.

PAYROLL CANADA maintains your Employee database, does all
calculations of Wages and Taxes, prints Pay Cheques (on Moore
Business Forms Series 54150 Carbonless Multi Purpose Cheque forms),
prints Pay Slips for Manual Cheques/Cash Payrolls, prints a Payroll
Register (both Current and YTD), and Cheque Register. It is not
merely an extension of an Accounting System, it is a DEDICATED
Payroll System. If you have a need for a Canadian Payroll System
you must see this one.

It is suitable for office and industrial employees. Version
2.0 includes enhancements to handle complex overtime, Shift
Premiums, Vacation and Sick Leave Accrual Funds. There is also a
new interface to NewViews Accounting, and a temporary 48% reduction
in the Registration Fee. We think it is the best there is, the
Rolls Royce of PC Payroll Systems.

Options include translation of the Current and YTD Payroll
Register to dBASE II, dBASE III, DIF suitable for the Lotus 123 or
Symphony Translate Utility, and DIF suitable for the PC-File Import
DIF Utility.

dBASE, LOTUS, NewViews, etc. are not pre requisites for using
PAYROLL CANADA It can be used on its own - but we provided the
interfaces to NewViews, LOTUS, dBASE, etc., to make it the ULTIMATE
Payroll Front End for people who are already using those programs.

PAYROLL CANADA is a big system designed to run on the IBM PC,
IBM AT, and close compatibles. It was written in Turbo Pascal and
Compiled. The compiler output (which is what we are distributing)
is ready to run machine level code. ( DOS .COM files). You do not
need Turbo Pascal to run it.

PAYC20.TXT is this download information file, which you are
reading now. It is plain ASCII and can be READ or DOWNLOADED with
no special handling. The other files were compressed into .ARC
archives to save downloading time. Each archive contains
approximately one full 360K disk. Archives require either the ARCE
program or Version 510 or later of the ARC program to uncompress
them. These are binary files and if downloading them over the
telephone you must use a protocol which transmits all 8 bits in each
byte and provides error checking. Xmodem is OK. Do not use an
ASCII file transfer method. ARC and ARCE are also available for
download on CompuServe and most local BBS systems (if you do not
already have one or the other of them).

If you prefer to save on-line connect time you can obtain these
files on diskettes through the mail by sending a cheque or money
order for $20.00 direct to Anthistle Systems & Programming Ltd., 563
Patricia Drive, Oakville, Ontario L6K 1M4 .

If you will be downloading them we suggest you take the
PAYCD1.ARC first and take a look at it. This will give you a good
idea of what PAYROLL CANADA is all about, and full Registration
information. If you like what you see then log on again and take
the remainder, PAYCD2.ARC, PAYCP1.ARC and PAYCP2.ARC, or mail us a
cheque for the diskettes.

                         SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
                         ===================

MEMORY
------

These programs are for the IBM-PC, IBM-AT and close compatibles
(the video screen must be at address $B800:0000 if you are using a
Colour card, or at $B000:0000 if you are using a Mono card). They
are huge programs but everything is not in memory at the same time.
They actually need only about 128K of memory to run in, plus an
additional 1.4K per employee. Because DOS itself also requires
about 60K it is unlikely that you will be successfull in running
them on a computer with less than 256K of RAM installed (maximum
about 50 employees). On a 640K machine you could process up to
about 320 employees, on a 512K machine about 230 employees.

You can handle larger numbers of employees by putting them in
seperate PAYROLL.DTA files on seperate directories. If you do that,
each group will need its own PAYROLL.CNF file which can be renamed
to something else and renamed back before you use it. A good
application for a DOS .BAT file to control.

DISK
----

You should allow 9K of disk space total per employee to handle
both the input and output directories. You can fit about 39
employees on a 360K diskette. If you have more than this then you
need a Hard Drive. Disk space requirements for the single file
maximum of 320 employees would therefore be 2.9 Megabytes. You need
either 2 double sided, double density, 360K floppy disk drives OR 1
such drive and a Hard Drive.

PRINTER
-------

You also of course must have a Printer to print the Cheques and
other reports on. If printing cheques or T4's it must be able to
handle continuous forms (most printers do).

                      TAX TABLES / REGISTRATION
                      =========================

PAYROLL CANADA contains Tax / CPP / UIC tables valid in all
Provinces and Territories except Quebec. The Federal Reduction is
calculated for Quebec, but we skipped the Provincial taxes there
because there are substantial differences to other Provinces and
they are collected directly by the Provincial Government therefore
the formulas are not published in the Federal MC46 Booklet. Sale of
this program in Quebec would probably also require us to translate
everything into French - something we are not prepared to do unless
we first see enough potential demand to justify it. If you are a
resident of Quebec then please accept our apologies. It is a simple
matter of economics.

Revenue Canada tell us that there will be no July tax changes
in 1987 - but a big tax change is expected in 1988. So Version 2.0
is good "as is" until end December. Go ahead, try it out, use it if
you wish, but please do not let that stop you from Registering right
away. The number of Registrations we get, and the time frame we get
them in, will influence our marketing plans for the future. This in
turn has an influence on price. We do not see it going any lower,
but poor response may force a loading for sales expenses so we can
profitably sell it by more conventional means.

To protect the integrity of the system, and because PAYROLL
CANADA has tax formulas for all Provinces and Territories (except
Quebec) built right in, as per Revenue Canada MC46 Specifications,
they are not user updateable. You must become a registered user if
you want 1988 Federal and Provincial Taxes.
